Origin of a renaissance
Origin of a renaissance
Established on old tobacco fields, approximately 45 minutes from Montreal, the Vignoble Le Mernois takes roots in 2004. These noble and fertile lands are living a renaissance. The rich sediments left behind by the Champlain sea, along with advanced silica levels in the soil create a favourable climate, conducive to vine culture.
Starting with 5600 vines in 2004, Vignoble Le Mernois continued its expansion by adding 4500 new vines in 2007. Vines choosen are rustic and hearthy enabling them to withstand our beautiful nordic climate of Lanaudiere.
The professional advice of Jean Berthelot, a greatly admired wine expert in Quebec, has allowed for the owners of Vignoble Le Mernois to elaborate and develop a line of quality wines such as Trous de la Phine (red wine), Côte d'Alban (white wine), Florisca (rosé wine), Terratabac (red wine) and Culotte de bois (fortified red and rosé wines).
The pavillion of Vignoble Le Mernois was completed in 2007 and is a wonderful location for discovering our unique Quebec wines. A casual atmosphere makes it the ultimate location for hosting meetings, wedding receptions or to enhance any group functions.
